Discover how a leading Indonesian road contractor optimized their infrastructure projects with our high-performance 8 m³ asphalt distributor truck on December 16, 2025. This case study explores the technical challenges of the Indonesian climate, the precision engineering of our bitumen spraying systems, and the seamless delivery process. Learn why international buyers choose our equipment for durability, efficiency, and superior spray accuracy.
Indonesia is an archipelago country that has witnessed a colossal surge in the construction of infrastructures and will need strong and trustworthy road construction equipment. The call to use high quality asphalt paving is at an all time high since the busy streets of Jakarta to the growing highways of Sumatra and Kalimantan need quality paving. Our company has also made a breakthrough in the global supply chain excellence recently when it managed to manufacture a customized 8-cubic-meter (8m³) asphalt distributor truck and sell it to one of the largest construction companies in Indonesia.
This case study explores the needs of the client, technical excellence of equipment, and why our 8 m3 model is taking the road in the region of Southeast Asia as the new gold standard in mid to large-scale road projects.
The client was experiencing a particular series of problems:
Indonesia is a very wet country and the amount of rainfall is very high, hence asphalt should be installed at the accurate temperatures to achieve the correct bond.
Their former machinery had a problem of uneven distribution of bitumen and this caused fat spots or streaking on the road surface causing them to do the same job over again.
They required a tank that had the capacity to move along large distances along the road (8 cubic meters) and yet would not be so heavy that it could not move along the smaller territory roads.
Our team suggested the 8 m3 Intelligent Asphalt Distributor Truck after conducting a series of technical consultations to suit the local Indonesian emission requirement and preference of operation.
The 8m³ asphalt distributor has been a matter of the so called sweet spot to the international contractors. It compromises between carrying capacity and maneuverability of the vehicle. The following are the technical specifications that made the deal with our Indonesian partner:
Bitumen should be maintained at a certain temperature (between 160degC and 180degC) so as to be in liquid state to spray. Our truck contains high efficiency diesel burner and stainless-steel heating pipe system. The high density rock wool forms the insulation layer which guarantees a temperature drop of less than 1degC/hr during the transport.
The onboard computer has a high-precision radar and an encoder system, which in turn controls the speed of the asphalt pump automatically depending on the speed at which the vehicle is moving. It makes sure that there is the same amount of spray per square meter whether the driver is accelerating or decelerating.
The rear spray bar is expected to have a triple-overlap effect. The nozzles are also meticulously designed to touch the next sprays to get a 100 percent coating. This is imperative to the “prime coat” and tack coat layers in road construction.
When heavy machinery is to be shipped to Indonesia, it is not as simple as loading a truck into an aircraft. Our localized solution was as follows:
Chassis Selection: We have used a strong chassis which is famous because it is durable in Tropical climate, so the spare parts can be easily located in Indonesia.
Right-Hand Drive (RHD): To meet the Indonesian road regulations the vehicle was strictly set to be a right-hand drive model with English/Indonesian localized control interface.
Filtering System: Since the quality of bitumen may differ, we provided a multi-stage filtering system that ensures nozzle clogging, which is one of the major complaints of road crews.
The transportation of an asphalt pressure sprayer should be thoroughly planned. The truck was transported through a RORO (roll-on/roll-off) shipping ship and transported between Shanghai and the Port of Tanjung Priok.
On delivery, our after sales team delivered:
The client had a tight schedule to follow hence since the first set-up was urgent we offered video training in high definition and real-time remote assistance.
We instructed the local Indonesian crew about adjusting the spraying settings, using the one-key cleaning feature (which does not allow the hardening of bitumen in the pipes), and maintenance schedules.
The exportation of this 8m³ bitumen spraying truck to Indonesia is a testimony of our dedication to offering high-performance and economical solutions to the construction industry including other parts of the world. You need a small patcher of 3m³ or a huge distributor of 12m³ that is intelligent to survive even in the most hostile conditions and provide a surgical precision? You will find our equipment can survive them.
