This case study explores a recent collaboration between SINOTO and one of the major metropolitan authorities in South East Asia. The solution was the use of our state-of-the-art Dustless Suction Sweeper Truck, a project showcasing the intersection of high-tech innovation, logistical know-how and deep understanding of the local needs.
The challenge was to overhaul their outmoded road cleaning fleet with a modern solution that would be effective against heavy debris and fine dust without creating secondary air pollution.
Their basic operational challenges were:
1. Micro-Dust Contamination: Traditional methods such as mechanical broom sweepers and high-pressure air blowers worked well in removing larger debris but were not effective at removing dust at the microscopic level. They frequently agitated and redistributed fine cement and soil dust and left behind a layer of contaminants that could seriously degrade the adhesion of the permeable layer and subsequent asphalt courses.

This included cleaning milled asphalt surfaces during maintenance operations and efficient recovery of valuable excess aggregate following synchronized chip sealing – operations where speed and thoroughness have a direct impact on project profitability.

2. The Dust-Free Promise: The “dustless” part is accomplished by a complicated and multi-step filtration system. The vacuumed air and debris are channeled through a series of cyclonic separators and high-efficiency filters that capture even the finest particulates before that clean air is returned to the environment. This closed-loop system totally eliminates the problem of secondary pollution which plagues traditional methods.
3. A True Cement Stabilized Soil Cleaner: The suction head and the air flow dynamics are specially designed for the arduous task of cleaning aggregate-rich surfaces. The point at which a machine is ready to be shipped is a critical event. For SINOTO, this is not only a logistical step, but it is the culmination of our manufacturing promise and a demonstration of our commitment to quality. The sweeper going to Southeast Asia was subjected to a strict, multi-point pre-shipping protocol.
Understanding the machine would work in the hot and humid climate of Southeast Asia, our engineers made several critical adjustments. The hydraulic and engine cooling systems were improved by adding an increased capacity radiator and fans to ensure that the cooling system was able to function well in extreme ambient temperatures. Furthermore, an extra layer of anti-corrosive coating was added to the chassis and key components to resist humidity and saline air which is a very important feature for a highway sweeper for Southeast Asia.
Before being cleared for dispatch, the sweeper was put through a battery of tests which simulated real-world operating conditions. Our quality assurance team thoroughly checked:
Vacuum Pressure and Airflow: Instrumentation used to verify that the suction system met and exceeded its design specifications was calibrated.
Filtration System Integrity: The complete dust-containment system was pressure tested to ensure that there were no leaks and guaranteeing its “dustless” performance.
Hydraulic and Control Systems: Hydraulic systems from lifting the hopper to the suction nozzle were cycled through many times to assure smooth, reliable operation. The in-cab PLC controls were tested for responsiveness, and accuracy.
The last phase was the physical preparation for its long sea voyage. This is a process of precision and caring. The sweeper was carefully driven onto a specialized low-bed trailer for transportation to the port. Our dedicated logistics team then supervised the loading onto the Ro-Ro (roll-on/roll-off) vessel. All moving parts, such as the suction nozzle and hopper, were braced and locked. Sensitive electronic components were sealed and the entire vehicle was wrapped in a protective film to shield it from the elements in its journey.
This detailed protocol ensures that the machine is delivered to the client’s site in factory-perfect condition, ready for immediate commissioning.
As the SINOTO Dustless Sweeper is secured in the hold of the vessel its journey is only just beginning. Upon arrival at the site in Southeast Asia, a SINOTO field engineer will be on-site to supervise unloading, perform final commissioning and provide full training and instruction to the client’s operators and maintenance personnel.
