The SBS modified bitumen plant is a polymer-modified bitumen system designed to mix base asphalt with polymer modifiers such as SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene), PE (polyethylene), and EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer) through processes including shearing, swelling, and development. This significantly enhances the bitumen's high- and low-temperature performance, elasticity, and durability.

Our PMB plants are compatible with global polymer brands like Kraton, Dynasol, and LG Chem.

The SBS Modified Bitumen Applications:

Road construction: Modified Bitumen can be used in the surface layer, base layer and sub-base layer of the road, which can enhance the durability, stability and anti-aging performance of the road. It can also reduce noise and sticking phenomena, and improve driving safety.

Waterproofing Materials: Modified Bitumen can be used as the base material for waterproofing in basements, underground projects, and roofs. It can also be mixed with materials such as stone paint and fiberglass to achieve better waterproofing effects.

How is the polymer "development" process managed?
We use dedicated development tanks with thermal oil heating and specialized paddles. This allows the polymer to fully react and swell within the bitumen, ensuring the final product meets all technical standards.
Is the polymer dosing system automated?
Our plants are equipped with a PLC-controlled automatic dosing system. This guarantees precise weighing of additives, ensuring consistent batch quality and reducing human error on the job site.

  • Intelligent Control System

    The control system is composed of PLC and industrial computer, featuring both automatic and manual operation modes. Even if the instrument fails, production can still continue. The asphalt pump is controlled by frequency conversion, and the thermal oil is regulated through dual control. Even when the thermal oil furnace operates at low power, the asphalt temperature can be rapidly increased. The thermal oil regulating valve is a dedicated component of our company. It forms a PID control system through PLC, temperature sensors and the thermal oil regulating valve, precisely regulating the rise and fall of asphalt temperature. The modifier adopts static weighing measurement, with higher accuracy than dynamic weighing.

  • High-Performance Core Component - Colloid Mill

    The colloid mill and asphalt pump adopt China's top brand, German technology, and continuously synchronize with the latest world processes. The material of the colloid mill has extremely high wear resistance, ensuring that the fineness of modified asphalt meets the standards and the equipment has a long lifespan, guaranteeing 100,000 tons of trouble-free operation. The dual colloid mills can be used in series or in parallel.

  • Adaptive And Functional Expansion

    Compatible with various modifiers, capable of handling SBS, SBR, rubber powder and other different modifiers to meet the requirements of different asphalt grades. Through preset parameters in the software, the production mode can be quickly switched (such as high elasticity asphalt or high viscosity asphalt). The high-speed stirring process enables the asphalt and modifiers to be fully mixed.

  • High Production Efficiency

    Heating asphalt rapidly under an air-sealed condition effectively prevents asphalt from aging. The asphalt level transmitter uses capillary tube to conduct pressure, and the medium can withstand a temperature of up to 200℃. The high-speed stirring process enables the asphalt and the modifier to be fully mixed. The spiral plate heat exchanger rapidly raises the asphalt temperature, ensuring the continuous production throughout the process without the need for batch interval operations. This not only guarantees the stable quality of the modified asphalt but also maintains high production output. The equipment can operate continuously for 24 hours.

  • Modular Design

    SINOTO SBS Modified Bitumen Plant adopts an integrated design, which is convenient for container transportation; the pipeline layout is reasonable and tidy, and both the asphalt pipeline and the heat transfer oil pipeline are equipped with insulation rock wool. The equipment is easy to install and move, and can start production by simply connecting the pipelines and power supply.
